Leonardo DRS has been awarded a five-year, $90.2 million contract modification to develop, integrate and produce submarine technology insertion hardware for the U.S. Navy as well as the governments of Australia and the U.K.
The Defense Departmentsaid Thursday TIH will consist of display, processor and network equipment designed to support for combat control and sonar systems on naval submarines.
The modification increases the cumulative value of Leonardo DRS’ indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to $474.5 million.
Ninety-two percent of purchases under the modification will come from the Navy, another 5 percent from Australia and the remaining 3 percent from U.K.
Leonardo DRS will perform work in Pennsylvania, Minnesota and Virginia through September 2021.
