Leonardo DRS has secured a potential five-year, $462.2M contract from the U.S. Navy to produce console, display and peripheral equipment for the branch’s future surface ship combat systems.
The company will support the CDP technology insertion 16, modification 1 program covering common, thin client and multimission displays designed to facilitate human machine interface between sailors and combat technologies on a vessel, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Ninety percent of contract purchases are for the Navy, 6 percent for Australia and the remaining 1 percent for Spain.
The base performance period is valued at $62.5M and runs through August 2021. Work could extend until April 2025 if all options are exercised.
