Leidos to Support DOE's Hanford Site Cleanup Efforts Under $4B IDIQ; Liz Porter Quoted

The Department of Energy has awarded a Leidos-led (NYSE: LDOS) joint venture a potential $4B contract to provide infrastructure and services for an environmental cleanup project at a former plutonium manufacturing complex in southern Washington state over the next decade.

Leidos said Monday it will work with Parsons (NYSE: PSN) and Centerra Group as part of the Hanford Mission Integration Solutions group under the single-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

The HMIS alliance will perform information technology, integrated business, emergency, security, maintenance and training services at the site’s waste treatment and immobilization plant.

Liz Porter, senior vice president and operations manager of Leidos’ federal energy, environment and commerce operation, said the company has helped DOE address environmental, energy and nuclear management initiatives for more than four decades.

“We are proud to perform the important work of achieving economies of scale in the cleanup mission while contributing to the local economy in the Tri-Cities,” Porter added.
