Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) has received a potential five-year, $98 million contract from the U.S. Army to perform scientific and administrative services in support of Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs.
The company said Thursday it will assist CDMRP leaders and government program managers as well as establish programmatic panels that will advise the government on potential uses of research funds.
CDMRP was founded in 1992 through a Congressional appropriation to develop novel biomedical research approaches that will address the needs of citizens, the military and Congress.
Leidos has supported CDMRP for 25 years and will perform work under the new contract in Frederick, Maryland.
The contract has a one-year base ordering period and four one-year optional ordering periods.
