Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) has received a potential five-year, $470.7 million contract from the Transportation Security Administration to provide checkpoint screening equipment deployment services.
TSA announced the contract award in a notice posted Thursday on the SAM website.
The overall scope of work includes surveys, design support, on-site coordination and installation, removal and relocation of passenger screening technologies at security checkpoints, including advanced imaging technology, walk through metal detectors, advanced technology X-ray, explosive trace detection systems, computed tomography, bottled liquid scanners and credential authorization technology, according to the request for proposals released in July 2020.
The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a minimum guarantee of $1 million over the entire contract period and covers program management requirements, including resource management, quality control and assurance, risk management, financial and subcontractor management and communications and reporting support.
Specific checkpoint deployment services to be provided by the contractor include project management, site lead services, engineering, site survey, electrical installation, logistics and equipment installation and decommissioning. The vendors should also support screening optimization, operational upgrades, safety advancements and other enhancements to existing checkpoint configurations.
