Leidos Taps Darrell Williams to Manage UK Defense Logistics Program

Darrell Williams, a Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) vice president and a retired U.S. Army lieutenant general, was appointed to oversee the Logistics Commodities and Services Transformation Program, which the company manages on behalf of the U.K.’s defense ministry.

As Leidos VP and managing director of LCST initiative and logistics division, Williams will be responsible for driving the program as it seeks to transform and modernize the defense supply chain, the company said Wednesday.

The executive brings to the role his experience in leading the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency, where he oversaw more than 25,000 military personnel and civilians deployed globally to provide combat support logistics. As DLA director, he also supervised the National Defense Stockpile and the Department of Defense’s reverse logistic process.

“[Williams’] proven leadership skills and experience from running the DOD’s logistics supply chain will support the LCST program to continue delivering a highly dynamic, resilient and innovative set of capabilities for the [U.K. Ministry of Defense],” said Simon Fovargue, chief executive of Leidos’ U.K. and Europe business arm.

Following his time serving the Army and DOD, Williams joined the private sector in September 2020 as Leidos’ VP of defense logistics.

Leidos manages the U.K.’s defense logistic commodities and services under a 13-year, LCST contract it won in 2015.
