Leidos Appoints Former CMS Official Bobby Saxon as VP, HHS Account Executive

Bobby Saxon, formerly an information technology executive at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, has joined Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) as vice president and strategic account executive for the Department of Health and Human Services.

He is tasked with advancing strategic growth initiatives and safeguarding the company’s relationship with HHS, the company said Wednesday.

Saxon comes to Leidos after a nearly three-year tenure as deputy director and deputy chief information officer for the CMS IT office. He also worked as chief technology officer of the federally run health insurance exchange website, Healthcare.gov, and acting director and acting continuity manager for the agency’s enterprise preparedness and response operations.

A retired U.S. Army colonel, Saxon was assigned as the branch’s program director and enterprise IT division chief. He served in Iraq and received numerous distinctions including the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star Medal.

His experience in the private sector includes leadership posts at IT services and consulting firm SitScape, and co-founder of PC Poweruser and A Better World Insurance.
