KBR Wins Army Cargo Helicopter PMO Support Recompete; Byron Bright Quoted

KBR has been awarded a $49 million cost-plus-fixed-fee, recompete task order to provide system acquisition support and reliability improvements on the CH-47 Chinook Helicopter, as well as other aircraft platforms for the Cargo Helicopter Project Management Office (PMO) within the U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office (PEO) Aviation, the company announced Wednesday.

“These wins are a product of KBR’s decades of expertise in systems engineering and innovative warfighter solutions for manned and unmanned aircraft,” said Byron Bright, KBR’s president of Government Solutions and 2020 Wash100 Award recipient. “We take great pride in aiding the U.S. military with our mission-critical services.”

Under the task order, KBR will provide research, development, testing, studies, analysis and recommendations for the Army project offices and the service branch’s international partners. The company’s efforts will increase availability, improve reliability and reduce life cycle support costs for the service’s CH-47. KBR will primarily perform work in Huntsville, Alabama.

KBR previously secured another recompete award, valued at $41 million, to deliver high-end technical services and to develop recommendations to PEO Aviation. The company’s efforts will enhance airborne intelligence operations for the Fixed Wing Project Office.

Under the previous award, KBR worked in tandem with the Army to collect intelligence and plan, coordinate and execute missions. KBR has also optimized the use of special electronic mission aircraft, transport aircraft, and Future Vertical Lift systems.

KBR won the new task order under the Department of Defense Information Analysis Center’s (DoD IAC) multiple-award contract vehicle.
