The U.S. Air Force has selected KBR for a $58.1 million follow-on sustaining engineering task order to help the service branch identify new approaches to maintain air traffic control and landing systems.
Under the five-year award, KBR will research and analyze maintenance issues that may occur during the system life cycle such as corrosion, degradation and obsolescence, the company said Wednesday.
“We will continue our important work with the U.S. Air Force to increase the reliability and maintainability of warfighter systems,” explained Byron Bright, president of KBR’s government solutions business and 2021 Wash100 Award recipient.
The company won the task order through a recompete under the Department of Defense’s Information Analysis Center Multiple-Award Contract.
Houston-based KBR will also engineer aircraft technologies and other military platforms for the 448th Supply Chain Management Wing under a separate $91.8 million task order.
