KBR Gets $276M NAVAIR IT Support Task Order; Byron Bright Quoted

KBR (NYSE: KBR) has received a potential five-year, $276M task order under the unrestricted portion of the Alliant 2 governmentwide acquisition contract to provide information technology equipment and services to Naval Air Systems Command.

The company said Wednesday it will help NAVAIR deliver logistics IT capability to the U.S. Navy and other organizations within the Department of Defense and support the command in its net-centric and global information grid operations.

Tasks include the delivery of data transport, authentication, storage, fleet user interfaces, software and hardware infrastructure and analytics tools as well as in-service systems engineering, testing, modernization and sustainment capabilities. Work will occur at Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland and other DoD sites.

Byron Bright, president of KBR’s U.S. government solutions business and a 2020 Wash100 award winner, said the company’s workforce will work with NAVAIR to implement and deploy IT platforms worldwide.

The Houston-based technology and professional services contractor won a spot on the 10-year, $50B Alliant 2 unrestricted contract in November 2017 and held a position on the predecessor vehicle.
