Kary James Appointed ICF’s Equity & Inclusion VP

Kary James was named vice president of equity and inclusion for the public sector at ICF (Nasdaq: ICFI), where she previously served as executive director of the consultancy-managed nationwide clearinghouse Child Information Gateway.

James is now responsible for assisting federal civilian agency customers in identifying and addressing racial inequalities and underserved community needs, GovCon Wire has learned.

The social justice change agent has more than two decades of experience in human services. At the Child Information Gateway, she oversaw a service of the Children’s Bureau, Administration for Children and Families within the Department of Health and Human Services.

James’ career also includes time serving at Mainstruct Consulting as CEO and principal, Maryland’s Social Services Administration as executive director, and Casey Family Programs as director of systems improvement.

“These systems [in human services] have historical practices that pose barriers to equitable outcomes for underserved communities. My goal is to help our clients identify and break down those barriers so that real, positive change can happen,” said James.

She is also the chair of ICF’s Black Employee Community Network.
