John Trauth, a veteran cybersecurity leader with 35 years of industry experience, has joined Optiv to serve as general manager of the information security company’s federal division.
He will lead the business organization that helps implement cybersecurity programs for defense, intelligence and federal government customers, Optiv said Thursday.
Before joining Optiv, Trauth co-founded and served as CEO at Bricata, a subsidiary of OpenText that provides an integrated intrusion detection and prevention system.
He previously held various leadership positions at companies including Oracle (NYSE: ORCL), IBM (NYSE: IBM), Tektronix and Merlin International.
“John’s leadership will help guide our federal team in balancing the successful delivery of strategic services while driving demand for our clients,” said David Martin, executive vice president and chief services officer at Optiv.
Trauth will work with the Optiv Federal executive team including Nichoel Brooks, a retired U.S. Army colonel who joined the company in November as director of federal services.
