His new role entails support of government clients such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and he will work from a company office in Fairfax, Virginia, Dewberry said Friday.
The 35-year Army veteran previously led the USACE’s Europe District – North Atlantic Division and Northwestern Division in Portland, Oregon.
Kem was the 51st commandant of the U.S. Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, where he served from 2017 to 2020.
He was assigned to domestic as well as international military bases, ascending from positions such as engineer battalion commander and USACE district commander.
“With the addition of John to our federal practice, we’ll be able to better serve our clients as they seek to overcome challenges that are specific to federal agencies, and find innovative solutions,” said Phil Thiel, Dewberry’s executive vice president and leader of federal market strategy.
