Johns Hopkins University’s Applied Physics Laboratory has received a potential five-year, $933.7 million contract to provide systems engineering and technical services to the Missile Defense Agency.
The Defense Departmentsaid Friday APL will perform the services to support MDA’s efforts to build systems designed to protect U.S. troops from adversarial ballistic missiles.
MDA sought external support for agency systems, operations, hardware and software as well as technology development and transition efforts.
The agency will obligate $25,000 in fiscal 2018 research and development funds at the time of award of APL’s contract.
Work will occur in Maryland and Alabama, through Jan. 11, 2023.
