Jay Smilyk, a more than two-decade industry professional and former eastern regional director of sales at Vectra Networks, has joined Rockville, Maryland-based hardware visibility technology maker Sepio Systems as chief revenue officer.
The company said Tuesday that Lane Bess, principal and founder of Bass Ventures and Advisory as well as former CEO of Palo Alto Networks, has also joined the Sepio's advisory board.
Smilyk will oversee the firm's strategic operations including its growth, recruitment and channel development efforts as part of his new role.
Prior to his most recent capacity, Smilyk served as vice president of North American sales at Safend/Supercom and held similar sales leadership positions at Cynet, RSA and Check Point Software Technologies.
Bess's more than three decades executive leadership experience includes time as chief operating officer of Zscaler.
Yossi Appleboum, cofounder and CEO of Sepio, said Smilyk and Bess’s appointments will help the company drive its revenue generation and global expansion efforts.
He noted that Smilyk brings “important, diverse expertise” to the executive team while Bess “has contributed significantly” to the growth of various cybersecurity companies.
Sepio offers products and services for hardware access management to support clients in the financial and critical infrastructure sectors.
