Iridium Communications (Nasdaq: IRDM) has landed a potential seven-year, $738.5M contract to provide the Defense Information Systems Agency with unlimited access to a company-built global commercial satellite network.
DISA will receive mobile satellite airtime communication services during the contract period, which runs from Sept. 15, 2019, to Sept. 14, 2026, the Department of Defense said Friday.
The agency will finance the $16.7M initial value of the non-competitive, firm-fixed price contract using fiscal 2019 defense working capital funds.
Iridium’s government services business will perform the required work.
