IBM (NYSE: IBM) has received a Maturity Level 5 rating under the CMMI Institutes Capability Maturity Model Integration V2.0 appraisal program for the company’s commitment to maintaining delivery and quality standards.
The assessment covered more than 500 projects across six IBM service centers in 14 countries, the institute said Monday.
CMMI V2.0 is meant to guide organizations in efforts to gauge capabilities, identify areas of improvement and manage internal operations.
IBM’s global business services segment has reached an on-time project performance rate of 95 percent and saw its Net Promoter Score, which reflects client satisfaction and loyalty, increase by 16 points after implementing the institute’s updated framework.
The journey to CMMI V2.0 has enabled a client centric approach in our commitment to high quality delivery. It provides a direct connection between quality initiatives and our expected business results, said Lisa Smith, global leader of IBM Global Business Services.
Pat OToole, principal consultant at Process Assessment, Consulting & Training, led the appraisal.
