IBM (NYSE: IBM) has secured a potential $135 million contract to extend cloud services, software development and cognitive computing support for U.S. Army‘s Logistics Support Activity.
The company said Wednesday it will provide managed services, apply risk management framework security controls to LOGSA’s information technology enterprise and help the Army predict vehicle maintenance issues under the 33-month contract.
Work also covers Watson cognitive computing services and tools that will work to analyze structured and unstructured data from the military branch’s vehicles as well as recommend repair measures.
œWe’re pleased to continue our work with the Army to demonstrate the viability of cloud for mission applications,” said Lisa Mascolo, managing director of U.S. public service at IBM’s global business services segment and an inductee into Executive Mosaic‘s Wash100 for 2017.
The new contract is a re-compete of a managed cloud services deal that LOGSA awarded IBM in September 2012.
