Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) has purchased MapR‘s business assets for an undisclosed sum in a move to advance HPE-built data management technology with artificial intelligence, machine learning and analytics applications.
The deal covers the acquisition of intellectual property, domain expertise and technology in the AI/ML and analytics areas, HPE said Monday.
California-based MapR works with independent system integrators, resellers and software vendors to help enterprise customers adopt a data platform designed to support digital transformation efforts.
Antonio Neri, president and CEO of HPE, said the company seeks to build a complete suite of AI/ML-powered products and increase its ability “to help customers manage their data assets end to end, from edge to cloud.”
HPE noted the MapR platform can aid data scientists and analysts in data pipeline integration tasks on premise or in the cloud.
