Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) will perform planning yard services for the U.S. Navy’s in-service littoral combat ships under a contract modification worth nearly $108M over two years.
The service branch exercised options on a previously awarded contract for HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding division to develop ship installation drawings, update the ship change document, engineer the integration package, coordinate with regional maintenance centers and fleet entities, and standardize hull, mechanical and electrical engineering functions, the Department of Defense said Friday.
Work also covers management of operating cycle integration efforts, configuration data and related class ship records.
HII was awarded a six-year, $931.7M contract last year to support post-delivery life cycle support and oversee maintenance and associated availability schedules for the LCS fleet.
The Navy will initially obligate $18.8M on the modification award, with $1.1M slated to expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
Ingalls Shipbuilding is expected to finish work by April 2021.
