Harris (NYSE: HRS) has received a $161 million modification under a U.S. Navy contract to produce jammer systems for the Integrated Defensive Electronic Countermeasures platform on the carrier-based F/A-18 aircraft.
The Defense Departmentsaid Thursday the modification exercises a contract option for the full-rate production of 86 lot 15 IDECM AN/ALQ-214 A(V)4/5 onboard jammer systems.
The company will also manufacture eight WRA1 receiver/processor and seven WRA2 modulators for the IDECM system’s A(V)4 configuration under the exercised option.
DoD noted that the contract’s value includes an $59.9 million order from the Australian government under a foreign military sales agreement.
U.S. and Australian F/A-18 pilots use Harris-built IDECM guard the aircraft from detection and engage fired threats.
