Harris(NYSE: HRS) has received a potential $133.2 million contract to produce electronic countermeasure systems for integration into F/A-18 multirole combat jets of the U.S. Navy and Australia.
The Defense Departmentsaid Wednesday Harris will deliver Integrated Defensive Electronic CountermeasuresOnboard Jammer systems, equipment and racks under the firm-fixed-price contract.
The company will also repair test assets and perform field support of the AN/ALQ-214 A(V)4/5 IDECM OBJ systems as well as provide one acceptance test procedure test set.
AN/ALQ-214 is designed to protect aircraft from detection and engage fired threats to the aircraft.
The contract’s total value consists of $124.1 million in Navy funds and $9 million from the government of Australia.
Fifty-nine percent of work will occur in New Jersey, 29 percent in California and the remaining 12 percent in other locations within the U.S.
