The General Services Administration has awarded Springfield Parcel C a $316 million contract to lease a property in Fairfax County, Virginia, for the construction of a new Transportation Security Administration headquarters, according to an award notice posted Thursday on FedBizOpps.
Springfield Parcel C, an affiliate of Boston Properties (NYSE: BXP), will lease approximately 625,000 square feet of office space to TSA over a 15-year period under the contract, the Washington Business Journal reported Thursday.
A source told the publication that TSA expects to occupy its future Springfield facility by mid-2020.
GSA originally picked the Victory Center, Alexandria, for TSA HQ but the lease deal was voided by a federal court judge in 2015, the report noted.
