Jim McAleese, founder of McAleese & Associates and a three-time Wash100 winner, reported that the Department of the Air Force, which consists of the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force, requested $118.1 billion for USAF, $29.4 billion for USSF and $45.1 billion for “intelligence pass-through” programs in FY 2025.
According to McAleese, the Department of the Navy proposed a budget of $257.6 billion for FY 2025, reflecting a 1 percent increase from FY 2024. The U.S. Navy’s budget request is $203.9 billion, while the proposed budget of the U.S. Marine Corps for the next fiscal year is $53.7 billion.
The GovCon Expert noted that the U.S. Army’s FY 2025 budget request is $185.8 billion.
McAleese said DOD requested $167.5 billion for procurement efforts, $143.2 billion for research, development, test and evaluation account and $339.6 billion for operation and maintenance appropriations in fiscal year 2025.
Overall, the total funding request for DOD in FY 2025 reflects a 14 percent growth from the department’s enacted 2022 funding level.
