General Dynamics™ (NYSE: GD) mission systems business has won a potential five-year, $3.9 billion contract from the U.S. Army to provide common hardware systems to support military connectivity, interoperability, logistics and maintenance operations.
The Defense Departmentsaid Wednesday that the service branch will determine work locations and funds with each order under the Common Hardware Systems – 5th Generation cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price contract.
In August 2017, the Army released a request for proposal for the CHS-5 program, which will support all new and existing platforms, systems, subsystems and components covered by the Army™s tactical network.
The CHS-5 project is slated for completion by Aug. 24, 2023.
