A General Electric (NYSE: GE) subsidiary has won a potential $1.58 billion contract to manufacture as many as 329 propulsion systems for the U.S. Air Force’s F-15EX fighter aircraft program.
GE Edison Works will initially produce 29 lot 2 F110 GE-129 engines and USAF has options to order the next seven production lots under the same firm-fixed-price contract, the Department of Defense said Friday.
The service branch received two offers for the procurement effort and obligated $136.6 million to cover the initial order.
