GE Subsidiary Wins $1.6B Air Force Contract to Produce More F-15EX Jet Engines

A General Electric (NYSE: GE) subsidiary has won a potential $1.58 billion contract to manufacture as many as 329 propulsion systems for the U.S. Air Force’s F-15EX fighter aircraft program.

GE Edison Works will initially produce 29 lot 2 F110 GE-129 engines and USAF has options to order the next seven production lots under the same firm-fixed-price contract, the Department of Defense said Friday.

The service branch received two offers for the procurement effort and obligated $136.6 million to cover the initial order.

Raytheon Technologies‘ (NYSE: RTX) Pratt & Whitney business offered its F-100-PW-299 design for the engine competition.

Boeing (NYSE: BA) is producing the F-15EX jets under a potential $22.9 billion sole-source, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract awarded in July 2020.
