General Electric (NYSE: GE) has secured a $215M contract modification to supply 48 F414-GE-400 engines and associated devices for the U.S. Navy’s F/A-18 Super Hornet aircraft.
The Department of Defense said Monday it expects GE to complete services by August 2022.
Fifty-nine percent of work will take place in Lynn, Mass, while the remaining 41 percent will occur in Kentucky, New Hampshire and Vermont.
GE’s F414 engine products line is designed to increase aircraft thrust for air-to-surface, electric airborne attack and air-to-air weapons missions.
