The Government Accountability Office has dismissed three protests of the U.S. Navy’s award of the $7.7B Next Generation Enterprise Network Recompete contract for network services to Leidos (NYSE: LDOS), Nextgov reported Thursday.
Leidos won the service management, integration and transport portion of the NGEN-R indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract in February. The SMIT track covers network operations, electronic software delivery, endpoint detection and logistics management, among others.
General Dynamics’ (NYSE: GD) information technology business challenged the award in March and Perspecta (NYSE: PRSP) filed two protests with GAO. Both companies have an option to continue their challenge of the SMIT contract in the Court of Federal Claims.
“We’re pleased the protest was dismissed and are hitting the ground running, having used this time to expand our preparations for immediate program execution and success,” Gerry Fasano, president of Leidos’ defense group and a 2020 Wash100 Award winner, said in a statement.
Fasano added the company will work to fortify existing networks to support the mission of the Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps and help them gain a warfighting edge in the modern digital space.
