Fortinet (Nasdaq: FTNT) has acquired Herndon, Va.-based cloud services provider OPAQ Networks for an undisclosed sum in a strategy to offer an integrated platform that converges software-defined networking and network security functions.
Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Fortinet said Monday it looks to update the company's "Secure Access Service Edge" offering through the integration of its Security Fabric product with OPAQ's cloud-based zero trust network access technology.
OPAQ designed its platform to help customers secure distributed networks that encompass data centers, connected devices and remote users.
