Former Naval Air Forces Chief DeWolfe Miller Appointed HII Customer Affairs VP

Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) has named DeWolfe Miller, a retired U.S. Navy vice admiral and former commander of Naval Air Forces, as corporate vice president of customer affairs and he will be responsible for client outreach work for the company's Newport News Shipbuilding division.

The nearly four-decade Navy veteran will succeed Mark Fox, who is due to retire later this year, and be based in Washington, D.C., HII said Tuesday.

“[Miller's] extensive naval career provides him with a vast understanding and a wealth knowledge of our portfolio, as well as how they support the Navy’s missions," said Mitch Waldman, executive vice president for government and customer relations at HII.

Before joining the military shipbuilder, Miller spent three years as CNAF and previously held operational assignments aboard USS Carl Vinson, USS Nashville and USS George H.W. Bush.

He commanded Bush Carrier Strike Group 2 in combat missions, such as Operations Iraqi Resolve and Enduring Freedom, and flew A-7E Corsair II and F/A-18 Hornet aircraft as a naval aviator.
