Former National Lab Exec Anantha Krishnan Named General Atomics Energy Group SVP

Anantha Krishnan, a 15-year veteran of the Department of Energy's Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and most recently associate laboratory director of the LLNL engineering directorate, has been appointed senior vice president of the energy business at General Atomics.

He will oversee General Atomics' magnetic and inertial fusion divisions in his new position and brings more than three decades of research and development, business development and programmatic experience, the company said Monday.

His professional background includes research work in computational technology, sensors, materials and power and energy systems.

Krishnan previously served as a program manager at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and a VP at CFD Research Corp.

General Atomics noted its energy group studies shockwaves as part of high-energy density experiments aimed at helping scientists understand matter found in extreme environments.
