Ellen Lord, acquisition chief at the Department of Defense and a 2019 Wash100 awardee, has said Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) will develop a computer network to replace the F-35's Autonomic Logistics Information System, Reuters reported Wednesday.
She told Reuters in an interview the company will work on the ALIS replacement, called the Operational Data Integrated Network, to increase system efficiency at no extra cost to the country's taxpayers.
ODIN will be a cloud-based platform for F-35 maintainers to monitor the performance and security of aircraft systems in real time, the report noted.
Lord added the network should be ready for use in the fleet by December 2022.
