Elbit Systems has received a potential three-year, $93 million contract to modernize a fleet of F-5 fighter aircraft for an undisclosed Asia-Pacific country.
The company said Tuesday the upgrade will cover head-up displays, advanced cockpit, radars, DASH IV head mounted systems and weapon delivery and navigation systems.
Yoram Shmuely, general manager of Elbit’s aerospace division, said the company has observed an increased demand for similar upgrades and anticipates that more customers will follow.
F-5 jets are manufactured by Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) and have been used by multiple customers worldwide over the past four decades.
