Douglas Rosendale, formerly CEO of clinical informatics consulting firm CAIRNformatics, has been named federal chief medical interoperability officer at Deloitte‘s consulting business.
The more than 25-year healthcare veteran will work with federal clients to help them address interoperability goals through the use of technology, Deloitte said Wednesday.
Kevin Brault, a principal and federal health sector leader at Deloitte, said Rosendale has led multiple federal health information technology programs such as the development of the Department of Veterans Affairs‘ suicide hotline application.
Rosendale held the role of senior physician adviser for clinical informatics at the Veterans Health Administration and chief medical information officer at the VA and Defense Department‘s Interagency Program Office.
He helped establish and chaired the White House’s Health IT Innovation Development program, as well as led the implementation of the first national online H1N1 clinical guidance app.
The board-certified general surgeon currently serves as a fellow at the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.
