The Department of Energy expects to issue 33 awards worth potentially $67M combined to help companies integrate energy efficiency systems into the manufacturing process.
DOE said Wednesday it seeks potential industry partners to implement energy-saving approaches in domestic production and shoulder at least 20 percent of new research-and-development funds.
The funding opportunity announcement will focus on three main areas such as the integration of direct air capture systems in industrial facilities. Other areas involve the development of processes to improve energy utilization in the chemical and steel manufacturing sectors.
Interested parties have until June 25 to submit concept papers.
