Apex Clean Energy Holdings has secured a potential $497.3 million contract from the Defense Logistics Agency to supply the U.S. Army with electricity derived from off-site wind and on-site solar energy production facilities over a nearly 30-year period.
DLA Energy in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, awarded the firm-fixed-price contract through a competitive procurement process with nine proposals received, the Defense Departmentsaid Friday.
The contractor will also provide the service branch with supplementary electricity derived from traditional energy resources and will perform work in Texas and Virginia through Oct. 31, 2045.
DLA Energy will use the Army’s operations and maintenance funds from fiscal 2016 to fiscal 2046 to fund the contract, according to DoD.
