Technology services provider Acclaim Technical Services has appointed David Popelier, a 25-year veteran of the national security community, as CEO.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Popelier will oversee the leadership team, provide direction to the company’s strategy and budget, and further develop relationships with clients, partners and employees.
In a statement published Wednesday, Chuck Hicks, a board member at ATS, said Popelier has been key to the company’s acquisitive and organic growth in the past five years, leading the delivery of excellent customer service to Intelligence Community customers.
“He has also helped integrate five new companies into the ATS family while driving the wins and successful execution of new prime contracts and subcontracts in the technology and engineering services sphere,” Hicks added.
Popelier said he is honored to take on the CEO role and looks forward to growing the business and improving the company’s value by taking care of employees and delivering on customers’ mission requirements.
ATS provides technology and mission platforms for the Intelligence Community. The Reston, Virginia-based company supports the national security community by providing intelligence analysis, software engineering, defensive cyber, systems engineering, virtual reality and language services.
David Popelier’s Career Background
According to his profile on the professional networking platform, Popelier most recently served as acting CEO of ATS.
In 2020, he joined ATS as general manager of the company’s mission technology and solutions business unit.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate managed portfolios of mission-critical contracts for the U.S. government during his time at SAIC, Oracle and LMI.
The Certified Analytics Professional and PMI Project Management Professional co-founded FourWinds, which LMI acquired in 2016.
Earlier in his career, he served as a civil servant at the State Department and supported the Intelligence Community as a government employee and contractor.
Popelier has a master’s degree in national security studies from Georgetown University.
