Dataminr, a New York-based artificial intelligence firm, has won a potential five-year, $258.6M contract from the U.S. Air Force to develop a commercially available platform that can send alerts to users in real time through mobile, email and web-based applications.
The service branch received three offers for the firm-fixed-price contract and will obligate $48.7M in operations and maintenance funds for fiscal 2020, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
The platform should be able to leverage publicly available data sources, assess content to detect emerging events, keep pace with industry standards and scale to a DoD enterprise capability in addition to pushing alerts based on topics of interest and user-defined areas.
Work will occur in New York through April 23, 2025.
