Cummins Lands $500M Army Contract to Produce, Modify 500kW Generator Sets for Poland

Cummins Power Generation has secured a $500 million firm-fixed-price contract to produce and make minor modifications to 500-kilowatt skid-mounted mobile electric power generator sets and power plants for Poland through the foreign military sales program.

Work locations and funding will be set at the delivery-order level, the Department of War said Friday. Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, is the contracting activity.

Cummins’ latest award underscores how critical resilient power capabilities have become for Army operations and allied support. At the 2026 Army Summit, senior leaders and industry innovators will break down the technologies and partnerships driving the Army’s next era of operational power and sustainment. Secure your spot to hear what’s coming next for the Army’s modernization enterprise.

How Does the Contract Build on Cummins’ Previous Army Award?

The new contract builds on Cummins’ potential nine-year, $509.5 million award in 2024 to supply the Army with Advanced Medium Mobile Power Sources systems — tactical generators ranging from 5kW to 60kW used to power weapons platforms and military equipment. It also covers interface kits, trailers, switch boxes, and modifications to the generation sets.
