Culmen International has purchased Tysons Corner, Va.-based Centrifuge Systems for an undisclosed sum in an effort to expand its big data intelligence and analytics offerings.
Culmen said Tuesday the combined firm will run under the brand Culmen International and the Centrifuge team will be integrated with its technology solutions division under the supervision of Chief Strategy Officer Mark Dumas.
Dan Berkon, founder and CEO of Culmen, said the acquisition provides the company an opportunity to broaden its technology and services in big data discovery, link analysis, geospatial intelligence and advanced analytics.
He added that Centrifuge has supported federal agencies, intelligence community and state and local agencies in various missions.
Centrifuge provides big data intelligence systems and visualization software for use in cybersecurity, counterterrorism, financial crimes analysis and homeland defense.
Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP represented Culmen in the transaction, while Morrison & Foerster LLP served as Centrifuge™s representative.
