Collins Aerospace Secures $271M IDIQ Award to Supply Navy Airborne Radios

Collins Aerospace, a unit of Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX), will manufacture software-based airborne radio systems for the U.S. Navy under a $271.6 million.

The service is procuring up to 2,390 Networked Communications Airborne Radios along with ancillary equipment and support services through the firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award, the Department of Defense said Friday.

Designated as RT-2036(C), the hardware functions as the sixth generation of the AN/ARC-210 system currently installed on more than 140 aerial, land and maritime DoD platforms

Collins designed its single-channel, software-based radio technology to interoperate with very high frequency and ultra HF and UHF systems built to support mobile network communications. The product features data, voice and imagery connectivity that is beyond line of sight, and functions through multiple waveforms.

DOD expects contract work to conclude in September 2025.
