Raytheon Technologies‘ (NYSE: RTX) Collins Aerospace business has secured a delivery order to supply more AN/PRC-162 ground radio systems to the U.S. Army.
It marks the service branch’s eighth order with the defense technology supplier under the potential $12.7B Handheld, Manpack and Small Form Fit radio procurement vehicle unveiled in 2016, Collins Aerospace said Monday.
The AN/PRC-162 system is designed with two frequency channels that facilitate transmission of voice and data communications and supports interoperability with the multiple waveforms.
Collins Aerospace developed its radio offering as part of the TruNet networked communications suite.
The software-based device will also include an updated tactical satellite communications feature through Mobile User Objective System Mobile User Objective System implementation.
