A Cognosante business unit has received a potential three-year, $26 million contract to help the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services handle inquiries from agency customers regarding the No Surprises Act.
The company said Thursday its CognoConnected sector will perform multi-tiered help desk services to address calls and online queries related to federal law that protects citizens from getting unanticipated bills for emergency and non-emergency medical services.
CognoConnected will also collect performance data to support the agency’s program and process management efforts. The contract has a one-year base period and two option years.
James Gordon, president of Cognosante and CognoConnected, said the business will work to help CMS manage No Surprises Act-related customer experience.
“We look forward to further expanding our support to CMS and its missions, helping improve access to care and protecting medical care recipients from surprise medical bills,” added the 2022 Wash100 inductee.
