Capgemini will buy VariQ through a stock purchase agreement as part of efforts to further expand its information technology capabilities for government clients and strengthen its presence in the federal market.
Founded in 2003, VariQ offers cybersecurity, cloud and software development support services to federal government agency clients through the Alliant 2 governmentwide acquisition contract and other contract vehicles, Capgemini said Tuesday.
Capgemini will integrate VariQ with its government solutions business upon the deal’s closing. The acquisition is expected to conclude by the end of 2021, subject to approvals by the Committee of Foreign Investment in the United States and the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency.
Doug Lane, CEO of Capgemini Government Solutions and a previous Wash100 Award winner, said the addition of contract vehicles and strong talent through the transaction will enable the company to strengthen its capability to deliver platforms to agency clients.
