CAE Wins $250M Army Flight Training Service Recompete

A CAE business unit has won a potential $250 million contract to continue helping U.S. Army and Air Force pilots train to operate fixed-wing aircraft.

The Army’s firm-fixed-price award to CAE Defense & Security builds on a training program that began in 2016 and will cover more than 600 aviators every year until 2032, the company said Wednesday.

CAE Defense & Security cultivates the servicemen at its Dothan Training Center in Alabama, near the Army Aviation Center of Excellence at Fort Rucker.

The program includes the CAE Trax Academy, which combines ground-based training with self-paced virtual and augmented reality exercises.

Army and Air Force personnel are coached to fly the Beechcraft C-12 Huron C-12 and Grob G-120TP aircraft, and supplied with flight training devices, desktop trainers and courseware.

The recompete contract has an initial base period of performance, followed by seven one-year option periods.
