CAE (NYSE: CAE) has begun building a facility at Florida’s Tampa International Airport to serve as the future headquarters of the Canadian defense firm’s U.S. subsidiary.
CAE USA plans to house more than 600 employees at the new facility, which the aviation training provider will lease from Space Florida, and expects construction work to be completed in 2022, CAE said Friday.
The company added it looks to add 100 positions in the program management, training, engineering and corporate areas.
Ray Duquette, president and general manager at CAE USA, said the business has operated in the Tampa Bay area over the past four decades and aims to attract professionals who can help develop training platforms for the defense sector.
