Boeing (NYSE: BA) has secured a $471.3 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to help update Japan’s F-15 Eagle fleet.
The company will develop a suite of aircraft systems and four weapon training systems for the F-15 Japan Super Interceptor Program, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Work will be conducted in St. Louis through Dec. 31, 2028.
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center awarded the contract on a sole-source basis and is obligating $48.26 million in foreign military sales funds at the time of award.
In early December 2021, the Japanese government announced that it has allocated funding in its fiscal year 2022 budget to transform the F-15 fleet into the Super Interceptor variant.
