Boeing (NYSE: BA) received a $605M U.S. Air Force contract modification to manufacture a global satellite communications satellite designed to facilitate broadband connectivity for military users.
The military service will initially obligate $300M in fiscal 2018 procurement funds for the production of the Wideband Global SATCOM Space Vehicle 11, the Department of Defense said Friday.
The firm-fixed-price modification brings the total potential value of the company’s contact to $2.49B. Work will take place in El Segundo, Calif., through Nov. 20, 2023.
