Boeing (NYSE: BA) secured a potential 10-year, $250M contract to provide Joint Direct Attack Munition guidance kit services to domestic and international defense customers.
The company’s defense, space and security business will perform JDAM/Laser JDAM sustainment, aircraft integration and technical support, the Department of Defense said Monday.
Fifty-two percent of contract purchases are for the U.S. government and the remaining 48 percent are for various clients under the foreign military sales program.
The U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy will obligate a total of $12.8M in fiscal 2019 procurement and ammunition funds on the first task order.
Work under the modification will occur in St. Louis through March 2029.
JDAM is fitted with INS/GPS technology and designed to convert free-falling bombs into œsmart platforms. The Laser JDAM expands the kit™s features to include sensors that can support pursuit of mobile and maritime targets.
