Boeing (NYSE: BA) has received a $115.2 million modification under a U.S. Navy contract to provide integrated logistics and site activation support services for P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft.
The Navy will fund $103.4 million of the modified contract’s value and the Australian government will finance the remaining $11.8 million as part of a cooperative engagement agreement, the Defense Departmentsaid Thursday.
Boeing will perform work through September 2021 in Washington, Oklahoma and in Brisbane, Australia.
The Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Maryland will obligate $34.5 million in fiscal 2018 aircraft procurement funds and foreign military sales funds at the time of award.
P-8A is derived from Boeing’s 737-800 and designed to support maritime and littoral operations such as long-range anti-submarine warfare; anti-surface warfare and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
